What sustainability means
For the Southwestern Communities Coalition, sustainability means building strong, meaningful relationships with the broader community, as well as using the newest technologies, the best human resources and investments to do things the right way.
SUSTAINABILITY IS
cattle ranchers in Colorado using technology such as Geographic Positioning Systems and Radio Frequency Identification tags to better track their herds and better manage grazing lands throughout the Southwest.
SUSTAINABILITY IS
regional vineyards adopting drip irrigation, process ponds as well as purchasing supplies from local vendors to more carefully use the area’s resources.
MOST IMPORTANTLY
Sustainability is stability for people –
a strong economy is necessary for thriving communities and sound stewardship.
